Rumaki Burger

Day 63 ~

Rumaki Burger

Growing up, we had rumaki appetizers a lot. They are so good and tasty. Add bacon to anything and it's usually a favorite dish for everyone. My sister-in-law Kathy brings them to every holiday event. I love the sweet and spicy glaze and the chewiness of the bacon and the crunch of the water chestnut. Yum! I decided I wanted to add some rumaki on my burgers, but instead of bite size appetizers, I wanted one that would fit on a burger.  And that's exactly what I did. Here's how I did it.

Wrap bacon around water chesnuts in whatever size you want for the burger that you're making. This one took 2 slices of bacon and 2 water chesnuts that I sliced into 9 slices. Make the sauce, using ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar and garlic powder. Pour sauce over the bacon wraps and bake in the oven.

Here's what it looks like out of the oven.

Now, add it to your burger and drizzle more sauce over the entire burger.

And, the finished product. Enjoy!

Remember, you can always use the bite size rumaki and add them to little sliders or meatball sliders. That would be great as well.
