Cowboy Burger with a Deep Fried Onion Popper (half onion ring-half jalapeno popper) and a BBQ Zesty Sauce
I love onion rings and jalapeno poppers so I decided to create an onion popper that joins both flavors together. I tried it several ways including beer batter and traditional dredging. In the end, I found the best way was to dredge it in flour, then an egg, milk and sour cream mixture. And finally, dredge it in some panko then fry. It turned out great!
Take your onion, add the jalapeno mixture in the center. Then dredge in flour, egg mixture and then panko.
Then deep fry at 360-375 degrees for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
Here's the finished onion popper.
Add it to the burger and enjoy!
